I highly recommend a high cat tree if you have small children so they can get away when they need to and rest.
We use scoopaway litter
Purina one kitten dry food until kitten is 1 year then adult dry food- dry should always be available as well as water
Fancy feast grilled or gravy- 2 times daily
My cats drink more water with a fountain.
